Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Illustration for 'The Christmas Mummers' 12.4 x 36.2 cm. (4 7/8 x 14 1/4 in.) (sheet); 9.3 x 35.3 cm. (3 5/8 x 13 7/8 in.) (image) by Jack Butler Yeats was sold in the The Irish SaleVision & Voice auction at Bonhams in Dublin in November this year. The price achieved of EUR 5,120.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Butler Yeats achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Whistle of a Jacket in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,103,750.00 (€ 1,850,462.00).

(image) von Jack Butler Yeats wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Irish SaleVision & Voice bei Bonhams in Dublin versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 5.120,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Butler Yeats erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Whistle of a Jacket im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.103.750,00 (€ 1.850.462,00).
