Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The City by Jack Butler Yeats was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 192,695.11) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jack Butler Yeats have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Whistle of a Jacket in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,103,750.00 (€ 1,850,462.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The City von Jack Butler Yeats kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 192.695,11) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jack Butler Yeats auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Whistle of a Jacket im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.103.750,00 (€ 1.850.462,00).
