This artwork by Jack Butler Yeats achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2021. In the Irish Art auction, the work Near Ballycastle sold for GBP 2,142.00 (€ 2,514.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Butler Yeats achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Whistle of a Jacket in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,103,750.00 (€ 1,850,462.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jack Butler Yeats erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Near Ballycastle für GBP 2.142,00 (€ 2.514,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Butler Yeats erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Whistle of a Jacket im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.103.750,00 (€ 1.850.462,00).
