Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Ireland / France: Art & Literature, which included the work A Sandhill near Tralee Bay | Une colline de sable près de Tralee Bay by Jack Butler Yeats. The price achieved of EUR 50,400.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Butler Yeats achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Whistle of a Jacket in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,103,750.00 (€ 1,850,462.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Ireland / France: Art & Literature durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Sandhill near Tralee Bay | Une colline de sable près de Tralee Bay von Jack Butler Yeats zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 50.400,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Butler Yeats erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Whistle of a Jacket im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.103.750,00 (€ 1.850.462,00).
