Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Nor' Western Town by Jack Butler Yeats was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 426,400.00 (€ 500,633.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 350,000.00 – 550,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jack Butler Yeats - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Whistle of a Jacket, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 1,103,750.00 (€ 1,850,462.00).
