This artwork by J. Alfonso Toft achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2021. In the From Daumier to Olitski: Select Works from The William Louis-Dreyfus Foundation and Family Collections auction, the work Landscape with a Barn sold for USD 1,008.00 (€ 870.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by J. Alfonso Toft; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Clematis sold at auction in May 2001 with the realized price of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,181.95).

Dieses Kunstwerk von J. Alfonso Toft erzielte im September 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion From Daumier to Olitski: Select Works from The William Louis-Dreyfus Foundation and Family Collections wurde die Arbeit Landscape with a Barn für USD 1.008,00 (€ 870,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von J.
