In September 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction From Daumier to Olitski: Select Works from The William Louis-Dreyfus Foundation and Family Collections, which included the work Landscape in a Golden Light by J. Alfonso Toft. The »bidding war« ended at USD 756.00 (€ 653.02), 26% above the upper estimate. Other works by J. Alfonso Toft have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 705.00 (€ 1,181.95) in May 2001 for the work Clematis.
