Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by J. Alfonso Toft could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British, Continental and Russian Pictures auction, the work A rocky landscqape with ruins in the distance; and Preparing the gondola, Venice changed hands for GBP 264.00 (€ 391.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by J. Alfonso Toft - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Clematis, which sold at auction in May 2001 for GBP 705.00 (€ 1,181.95).

In der Auktion British, Continental and Russian Pictures wechselte die Arbeit A rocky landscqape with ruins in the distance; and Preparing the gondola, Venice für GBP 264,00 (€ 391,81) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von J. Alfonso Toft mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Clematis beobachtet, die im Mai 2001 für GBP 705,00 (€ 1.181,95) versteigert wurde.
