Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Christies in New York held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work Nude on a Green Rug by Ivon Hitchens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,149.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ivon Hitchens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life with Azaleas in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 327,109.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nude on a Green Rug von Ivon Hitchens zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.149,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ivon Hitchens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life with Azaleas im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 275.000,00 (€ 327.109,44).
