Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Ivan Silych Goriushkin-Sorokopudov could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Russian Art and Paintings auction, the work In The Old Believers' Monastery changed hands for GBP 29,300.00 (€ 41,027.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Other works by Ivan Silych Goriushkin-Sorokopudov have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2008 by the work The Vision at GBP 39,650.00 (€ 50,118.93).
