This artwork by Ivan Ivanovich Godlevsky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2004. In the IMPRESSIONIST AND MODERN ART auction, the work Fisherman's boats sold for USD 15,535.00 (€ 12,486.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ivan Ivanovich Godlevsky; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bay of Tchekhov sold at auction in February 2005 with the realized price of USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,656.32).
