A top price for Ito Shinsui
This artwork by Ito Shinsui achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Fine Japanese Prints auction, the work Taikyo (Before the mirror Red geisha) sold for GBP 52,920.00 (€ 63,122.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. This high result makes Taikyo (Before the mirror Red geisha) the most expensive artwork by Ito Shinsui that we have observed at auctions so far.
