Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Showa Era (1926-1989), 1932 by Ito Shinsui was sold in the Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono auction at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,321.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ito Shinsui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Taikyo (Before the mirror [Red geisha)|AID524033] in December 2021 with an auction result of GBP 52,920.00 (€ 63,122.46).
