Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Stalactites by Ithell Colquhoun. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,434.00 (€ 2,063.92), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ithell Colquhoun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunflower in September this year with an auction result of GBP 79,140.00 (€ 79,140.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stalactites von Ithell Colquhoun zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.434,00 (€ 2.063,92) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ithell Colquhoun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunflower im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.140,00 (€ 79.140,00).
