This artwork by Ithell Colquhoun achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2008. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Construction sold for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,798.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ithell Colquhoun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sunflower in September this year with an auction result of GBP 79,140.00 (€ 79,140.00).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ithell Colquhoun erzielte im Februar 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Construction für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.798,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ithell Colquhoun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sunflower im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 79.140,00 (€ 79.140,00).
