In July 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Open House, which included the work Untitled (Snake Dancer) by Italo Scanga. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,600.00 (€ 2,625.63), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Italo Scanga - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Landscape With Jug) Signed And Dated 'Italo Scanga 1988' (Lower Right) Acrylic And Gouache On Paper In Artist Frame 45¾ X 35½ In. (116.2 X 90.2 Cm.) Painted In 1988. Untitled (Tree And Coin) Signed And Dated 'Italo Scanga 1989' (Lower Ce, which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 8,750.00 (€ 5,895.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Open House durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Snake Dancer) von Italo Scanga zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.600,00 (€ 2.625,63) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Italo Scanga mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Landscape With Jug) Signed And Dated 'Italo Scanga 1988' (Lower Right) Acrylic And Gouache On Paper In Artist Frame 45¾ X 35½ In.
