Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Isamu Noguchi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. In the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction, the work Woman With Holes Ii sold for USD 1,048,500.00 (€ 859,849.11) - well above the upper estimate of USD 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Isamu Noguchi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Garden Elements in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,727,500.00 (€ 4,207,458.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Isamu Noguchi erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction wurde die Arbeit Woman With Holes Ii für USD 1.048.500,00 (€ 859.849,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 500.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Isamu Noguchi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Garden Elements im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.727.500,00 (€ 4.207.458,17).
