Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Portrait Of A Woman, Full Length, In A Black Dress, Standing Next To A Balustrade by Isaack Luttichuys was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,020.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaack Luttichuys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of possibly the Stadholder of Friesland and Groningen Willem Frederik van Nasau Dietz (1613-1664), half-length, in armour with a white collar and a purple velvet cloak over his right arm, standing behind a table with a red and white feathere in December 2011 with an auction result of EUR 205,000.00.
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of possibly the Stadholder of Friesland and Groningen Willem Frederik van Nasau Dietz (1613-1664), half-length, in armour with a white collar and a purple velvet cloak over his right arm, standing behind a table with a red and white feathere im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 205.000,00.
