The work Portrait of a gentleman, traditionally identified as Dirk van Collen, Lord of Bredelar, three-quarter-length, in a black coat with a white collar and cuffs, a pair of gloves in his left hand by Isaack Luttichuys was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings auction at Christies in London in April 2011. The result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 33,785.17) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Isaack Luttichuys have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of possibly the Stadholder of Friesland and Groningen Willem Frederik van Nasau Dietz (1613-1664), half-length, in armour with a white collar and a purple velvet cloak over his right arm, standing behind a table with a red and white feathere in December 2011 with an auction result of EUR 205,000.00.

Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 33.785,17) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00.
