The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,132.50), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac Oliver achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elizabeth I and the Three Goddesses in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 289,250.00 (€ 368,426.76).
