Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Before Paradise (Man With Ball) by Isaac Julien was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,642.02). Admittedly, works by Isaac Julien have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Baltimore. in November last year with an auction result of EUR 59,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Before Paradise (Man With Ball) von Isaac Julien im November 2017 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.642,02) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Isaac Julien auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Baltimore. im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 59.400,00.
