Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View Of Spaarenhout, Near Haarlem by Isaac de Moucheron was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2012. The price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,533.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac de Moucheron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of the Vatican, Rome, with the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, from the Janiculum in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 215,579.01).
