In May 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Clouds - Peconic Bay by Irving Ramsay Wiles. The result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 35,599.86) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Irving Ramsay Wiles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Corner Table in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 635,000.00 (€ 488,912.84).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Clouds - Peconic Bay von Irving Ramsay Wiles zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 35.599,86) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Irving Ramsay Wiles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Corner Table im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 635.000,00 (€ 488.912,84).
