In June 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Fluctuating by Irene Rice Pereira. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,661.35), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Irene Rice Pereira - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Generator), which sold at auction in May last year for USD 60,480.00 (€ 56,360.08).

Im Juni 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fluctuating von Irene Rice Pereira zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.661,35) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Irene Rice Pereira mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Generator) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 60.480,00 (€ 56.360,08) versteigert wurde.
