This artwork by Ioki Bunsai achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in February 2021. In the Travel & Exploration auction, the work The Karamon of the Shinto shrine Nikkō Tōshō-gū, Nikko, Japan sold for GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,411.42) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ioki Bunsai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nikko Toshogu Honden, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 11,475.00 (€ 10,344.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ioki Bunsai erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Travel & Exploration wurde die Arbeit The Karamon of the Shinto shrine Nikkō Tōshō-gū, Nikko, Japan für GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.411,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ioki Bunsai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nikko Toshogu Honden beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 11.475,00 (€ 10.344,36) versteigert wurde.
