Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mrs Eveleigh Nash At Buckingham Palace Mall, London, 1953 by Inge Morath was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,736.07). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Inge Morath - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mrs Eveleigh Nash with her chauffeur, at Buckingham Palace Mall, 1953, which sold at auction in May 2010 for GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,125.92).
