This artwork by Igor Makarevich achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in February 2008. In the Contemporary Russian Art auction, the work Liberty sold for GBP 29,300.00 (€ 38,323.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. This high result makes Liberty the most expensive artwork by Igor Makarevich that we have observed at auctions so far.
