Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spanish mademoiselle Souty by Ignacio Zuloaga was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 157,250.00 (€ 179,815.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ignacio Zuloaga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spanish madame Souty Reclinada En Un Sofa (Madame Souty) in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 832,646.34).
