Auction result well in line with expectations
The work SOSSG by Ibrahim Mahama was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021. The price achieved of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,722.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ibrahim Mahama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ghanaianchale Wote in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 85,391.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit SOSSG von Ibrahim Mahama kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.722,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ibrahim Mahama auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ghanaianchale Wote im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 85.391,64).
