A top price for Ibrahim Mahama - as previously expected
The work Ghanaianchale Wote by Ibrahim Mahama was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in March 2018. The price achieved of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 85,391.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Ghanaianchale Wote is the most expensive artwork by Ibrahim Mahama that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Ghanaianchale Wote von Ibrahim Mahama wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 85.391,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Ghanaianchale Wote das teuerste Kunstwerk von Ibrahim Mahama, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
