Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Navrongo, 2017 by Ibrahim Mahama was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 27,575.00 (€ 23,532.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ibrahim Mahama - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ghanaianchale Wote, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 75,000.00 (€ 85,391.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Navrongo, 2017 von Ibrahim Mahama kam im September 2020 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 27.575,00 (€ 23.532,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ibrahim Mahama mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ghanaianchale Wote beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 75.000,00 (€ 85.391,64) versteigert wurde.
