Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Family Group by Ian Fairweather was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in November 2008. The price achieved of AUD 204,000.00 (€ 105,198.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 180,000.00 – 250,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ian Fairweather have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Australian Beach At Manicahan in April 2008 with an auction result of AUD 960,000.00 (€ 580,822.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Family Group von Ian Fairweather kam im November 2008 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 204.000,00 (€ 105.198,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 180.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ian Fairweather auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Australian Beach At Manicahan im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 960.000,00 (€ 580.822,20).
