Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Small Wave by Ian Davenport was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October 2021. The auction ended at the price of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,541.90), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ian Davenport - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Poured Lines: Dark Cobalt Study, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 95,447.82).

Die Arbeit Small Wave von Ian Davenport wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 35.541,90) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ian Davenport mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Poured Lines: Dark Cobalt Study beobachtet, die im März 2021 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 95.447,82) versteigert wurde.
