In June 2001 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work The Roundabout by Iain MacNab. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 376.00 (€ 624.61), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Iain MacNab - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Deya, Majorca, which sold at auction in February 2013 for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,177.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Roundabout von Iain MacNab zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 376,00 (€ 624,61) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Iain MacNab mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Deya, Majorca beobachtet, die im Februar 2013 für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.177,92) versteigert wurde.
