In February this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Spring in Green Hills by Hung Hoi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 63,000.00 (€ 7,570.46), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hung Hoi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ancient Temple in the Mountains, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,546.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Dawn of Spring – Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spring in Green Hills von Hung Hoi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 63.000,00 (€ 7.570,46) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hung Hoi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ancient Temple in the Mountains beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.546,64) versteigert wurde.
