In November 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Living in the Mountains by Hung Hoi. The auction ended at the price of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,799.07), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hung Hoi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ancient Temple in the Mountains in May 2017 with an auction result of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 28,546.64).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Living in the Mountains von Hung Hoi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 5.799,07) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 50.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hung Hoi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ancient Temple in the Mountains im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 28.546,64).
