Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Poet by Hughie Lee-Smith was sold in the American Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,500.00 (€ 7,908.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hughie Lee-Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indecision II in December 2021 with an auction result of USD 118,750.00 (€ 104,921.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Poet von Hughie Lee-Smith wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.500,00 (€ 7.908,89) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hughie Lee-Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indecision II im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 118.750,00 (€ 104.921,36).
