Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Hugh Scott-Douglas was auctioned at Phillips in New York in March 2020. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,500.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Hugh Scott-Douglas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 53,750.00 (€ 67,795.65).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.500,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hugh Scott-Douglas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.750,00 (€ 67.795,65).
