Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Painting 6901 by Hu Chi-Chung was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 70,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 69,300.00 (€ 7,675.54). Other works by Hu Chi-Chung have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2019 by the work Painting 7007 at HKD 93,750.00 (€ 10,715.49).
