Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work The Cache by Howard Terpning for USD 350,000.00 (€ 300,506.57). This price was achieved in the auction The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Howard Terpning have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Coffee Coolers Meet the Hostiles in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 1,392,500.00 (€ 1,223,745.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Cache von Howard Terpning für USD 350.000,00 (€ 300.506,57) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Legend of the West: Iconic Works from the T. Boone Pickens Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Howard Terpning auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Coffee Coolers Meet the Hostiles im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.392.500,00 (€ 1.223.745,50).
