Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Possibly Duntroon Castle, Loch Crinan by Horatio McCulloch was auctioned at Sothebys in London in August 2006. The price achieved of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,137.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horatio McCulloch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 264,032.50).
