Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Pictures: Edinburgh Assembly Rooms, which included the work A View Of Edinburgh Castle From The Water Of Leith by Horatio McCulloch. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,541.73), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horatio McCulloch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 264,032.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Pictures: Edinburgh Assembly Rooms durch, in der auch die Arbeit A View Of Edinburgh Castle From The Water Of Leith von Horatio McCulloch zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.541,73) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horatio McCulloch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 286.000,00 (€ 264.032,50).
