Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE SCOTTISH SALE, which included the work A Mid-Lothian landscape with Edinburgh in the distance by Horatio McCulloch. The price achieved of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 22,683.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horatio McCulloch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 286,000.00 (€ 264,032.50).

Im Oktober 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE SCOTTISH SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Mid-Lothian landscape with Edinburgh in the distance von Horatio McCulloch zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 14.340,00 (€ 22.683,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horatio McCulloch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 286.000,00 (€ 264.032,50).
