Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A collection of three etchings printed with tone, 1917-1930, comprising: 'Chinese Head', 1925 (illustrated); 'Street with Tree', 1930; and 'Seated Nude', 1917, each signed in pencil, from the edition of 35, published by London Graphic, 1967, with full mar by Horace Brodzky was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horace Brodzky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tidings in May 2005 with an auction result of AUD 10,157.50 (€ 6,243.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A collection of three etchings printed with tone, 1917-1930, comprising: 'Chinese Head', 1925 (illustrated); 'Street with Tree', 1930; and 'Seated Nude', 1917, each signed in pencil, from the edition of 35, published by London Graphic, 1967, with full mar von Horace Brodzky im April 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 180,00 (€ 263,54) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horace Brodzky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Tidings im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 10.157,50 (€ 6.243,87).
