The work The Gardener by Horace Brodzky was worth GBP 4,750.00 (€ 6,034.93) to a buyer in July 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 800.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Horace Brodzky; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Tidings sold at auction in May 2005 with the realized price of AUD 10,157.50 (€ 6,243.87).
