Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work After The Song Painting Series by Hong Lei. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 11,250.00 (€ 1,158.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hong Lei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Speak, Memory in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 18,500.00 (€ 23,532.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit After The Song Painting Series von Hong Lei zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 11.250,00 (€ 1.158,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hong Lei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Speak, Memory im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.500,00 (€ 23.532,81).
