In March 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Toward The Adirondacks by Homer Dodge Martin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,200.00 (€ 7,864.91), 70% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Homer Dodge Martin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Low Tide, Villerville sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,823.61).

Im März 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Toward The Adirondacks von Homer Dodge Martin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 7.864,91) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Homer Dodge Martin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Low Tide, Villerville im Oktober 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 13.823,61).
