Upper estimate price exceeded by 80 %.
This artwork by Himmat Shah achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2006. In the Indian Art Including Miniatures & Modern Indian Paintings auction, the work Image Ii sold for USD 21,600.00 (€ 17,025.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Himmat Shah - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 78,000.00 (€ 58,322.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Himmat Shah erzielte im September 2006 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Indian Art Including Miniatures & Modern Indian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Image Ii für USD 21.600,00 (€ 17.025,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Himmat Shah mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 78.000,00 (€ 58.322,12) versteigert wurde.
