Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Hilary Pecis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the Post-War to Present auction, the work Map of the Eastern Sierras sold for USD 315,000.00 (€ 283,962.86) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hilary Pecis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fish and Bird, which sold at auction in March last year for GBP 942,500.00 (€ 1,117,439.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hilary Pecis erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War to Present wurde die Arbeit Map of the Eastern Sierras für USD 315.000,00 (€ 283.962,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hilary Pecis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fish and Bird beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für GBP 942.500,00 (€ 1.117.439,83) versteigert wurde.
