It achieved a price of EUR 23,750.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 32 %. Admittedly, works by Hermanus Koekkoek Sen. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mending Nets by the Shore in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 154,500.00 (€ 172,471.53).

Die Arbeit Activities along the coast at sunset von Hermanus Koekkoek Sen. wurde im Juni 2017 in der Auktion 19th Century & Modern Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 23.750,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 32 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Hermanus Koekkoek Sen. auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mending Nets by the Shore im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 154.500,00 (€ 172.471,53).
